the steeply rounded sides rising from a high straight foot to a slightly flared rim, the exterior moulded and carved with lotus petals, covered overall in an olive-green glaze; together with a small celadon ‘fish’ bowl, Jin dynasty

Exhibited

From the Tang to the Qing: Chinese Ceramics from circa 618-1850 A.D. from the Collection of Dr. and Mrs. Peter Thompson, Hull University, Hull, 1996, cat. nos 16 and 64.

Condition

The large bowl: in good condition; two vertical glaze lines to interior each measuring approximately 15mm; a glaze pull above the foot and 2mm chip to foot ring. The smaller bowl: in very good condition, with the exception of some glaze inclusions to foot.
