moulded in the form of a hollow bamboo stalk pierced with five apertures to the top, one to the reverse and two to the sides, the mouthpiece formed by a short V-shaped cut, bearing a two-character inscription reading feng ming (the phoenix sings), Perspex stand

Purchased in Hong Kong, 29th July 1986.

Condition

In very good general condition; two glaze flakes to one of the lower apertures and an 8mm chip to the other ; two small chips (the largest 3mm) to top rim.
