each modelled in the form of a recumbent Buddhist lion resting on a square plinth, the seal face unglazed and uncarved; together with a small lion seal, an incense holder in the form of a seated Buddhist lion on a leaf and a similarly decorated miniature figure

Exhibited

Chinese Ceramics of the Transitional Period (circa 1620-1680 A.D.) from the Collection of Mr & Mrs Peter Thompson, Hull University, Hull, 1985, cat. nos 19, 21 and 88.

Condition

The large pair of seals: in good condition, very minor firing imperfections. The small seal: chip to tooth, minor nicks to rims, otherwise in good condition. Incense holder: faint firing cracks and imperfections, otherwise in good condition. Miniature lion: glaze flakes and chips to base, otherwise in good condition.
