Description
of compressed octagonal section, the faceted sides rising to a cantered shoulder and a straight neck set with square scroll handles issuing from mythical bird heads, finely carved standing on a rocky promontory washed by tumultuous waves and flanked in openwork by two qilin, one standing foursquare looking at a phoenix swooping down the body, the other seated on its hindquarter below swirling clouds, raising its head towards a chilong clambering around the neck reaching for a 'flaming pearl', all below a domed cover and a rope encircled knop, the translucent stone of pale white-celadon tone picked out with a few russet inclusions and finished to a smooth polish, carved wood stand

Condition
The vase and cover are overall in very good condition with only a few expected nicks around the edge of the mouthrim.
