Description
each of flattened globular form rising from a splayed foot to a waisted neck and a bulb rim, flanked by two foliate loop-handles, the body inset with a raised chloromelanite jade plaque within a gilt border, deftly incised with a five-column imperial poem preceeded by the characters yu zhi, the medallion further encircled on the sides by undulating strapwork and archaistic motifs enamelled in three tones of blue, all below a lotus wreathed by feathery scrolls around the neck, and above a frieze of green ruyi at the foot, the rims and handles gilt
Provenance
One with a label 'Seltene chines. Wandvasen, Qianlong 1736-1795, Kobe, Zürich, 5.11.1987' on the back.
