Estimate
400,000 - 600,000 HKD
bidding is closed
Description
modelled on the archaic bronze form yi, the horizontal body raised on four bulging baluster feet, the rounded sides gently folding in front of the vessel forming a circular spout, skilfully carved in openwork with three chilong dragons, clambering on the sides, their sinuous body with limbs outstretched, the tail of a single-horned male at the back and of the female in front curling over suspending a loose ring handle, the base detailed with archaistic scrollwork in low relief resembling the fleece of the mythical beast, the smoothly polished stone with light veining and milky inclusions
Condition
There may be possibly a small bruise to one of the loose rings, but otherwise the vessel is in very good condition with only minor pitting around the natural veins of the stone on the underside. The actual colour is very close to the catalogue illustration.
