Description

each body with gently rounded sides rising from a short tapering foot to a wide mouth, painted and enamelled to the interior with a medallion enclosing a shou character encircled by eight further characters and all within an interlinked ruyi strapwork band, the exterior with geometric scroll medallions and strapwork panels, the base with an underglaze six-character seal mark

An old Japanese collection.

Condition

There are two hairlines, each of approximately 2.2cm, to mouthrim of one dish. The other dish is in very good condition except for few pinholes to the mouthrim, which appears slightly yellowish as a result of firing. The enamels are in very good condition.
