Description

the robustly potted globular body rising from a recessed foot, surmounted by a short lipped mouth, painted around the sides with four large lobbed panels, detailed with scholars and their attendants in garden landscapes, interrupted by floral sprigs at the rounded shoulders below a continuous lingzhi scroll, all above a band of upright lappets circling the foot, the base inscribed with a six-character reign mark within double circles, wood stand

Condition

There is a long firing crack across the base passing through the reign mark. The glaze is very glossy. The jar also has some firing and potting imperfections, including body lines to the mouth, occasional burst air bubbles, fritting, glaze pulling and gaps but otherwise the overall condition is quite good.
