Description

the robustly potted body with broad shoulders decorated with a continuous scene of boys at play in a garden landscape, a couple depicted riding with a hobby horse, while others tease crickets and play with a puppet, between lotus scrolls at the shoulders and foot, beneath a short cylindrical mouth collared by a band of interlocking ruyi heads, the slightly recessed base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character reign mark within double circles

Condition

About half of the mouth has been restored and covered over with old paint on both the exterior and interior. It is not clear to what extent the damage is without removing the paint. There is a 15 cm firing crack to the lower part of the body more visible on the interior. The surface has some scratches.
