Condition
The canvas has not been lined. Under ultraviolet light the golden pigments in the edges of the clouds fluoresce, however these would appear to be the artist's original pigments and not retouching. Apart from a pattern of hairline craquelure following the stretcher parallel to the upper and right edges, and primarily visible in the sky (visible in the catalogue illustration), overall this work is in good original condition.
Held in a decorative gilt frame with a beaded ornament.
Colours: The catalogue illustration is overall accurate, however there is less yellow overall, and the blue of the sky is somewhat deeper.
The signature is in the extreme lower left of the composition and is covered when framed.
