Condition
The canvas has not been lined. Under ultraviolet light some of the pigments, notably the red-browns and some of the thick grey pigments, fluoresce, however these would appear to be the artist's original and not retouching. Apart from two surface scratches in the sky in the left, meeting at a right angle, overall this work is in good condition, and would benefit from a surface clean to address some light surface dirt.
Held in a decorative gilt rococo-style frame, with a nameplate.
The colours are less yellow than in the catalogue illustration.
