Condition
The canvas has not been lined. Ultraviolet light reveals some minor spots of retouching in the lower left corner in the prow of the boat, and in the sail near the centre of the left edge. Overall this work is in good condition, and is ready to hang.
Held in a decorative gilt frame, with a dark fabric inner accent.
The catalogue illustration is overall accurate, however there is slightly less red overall.
