Condition
The canvas has not been lined. Under UV light some of the pigments fluoresce however these appear to be the artist's original materials and there are no signs of retouching. The varnish has yellowed and the surface is slightly dirty so this work would benefit from a light surface clean. This work is in very good original condition.
Held in a decorative gilt and varnished wood frame.
The colours are fairly accurate in the catalogue illustration although they are slightly richer in reality.
