Condition

The canvas has been relined. Ultraviolet light reveals some minor spots of retouching at the extreme edges. There are some localised fine lines of paint shrinkage in the dark pigments of the lower part of the pot and in some of the background to the right (visible in the catalogue illustration). Overall the work is in good condition. Held in a decorative grey-painted and gilt frame, with a cloth-covered liner. The colours are more vibrant in reality than in the catalogue illustration, especially the greens.
