Condition

The board is very slightly raised convex in the centre, however is overall flat and even. There are some scattered spots of retouching which fluoresce under ultraviolet light (most discoloured and also visible in the catalogue illustration), with the exception of one in the belly of the donkey these are in the background: some fine strokes in the upper right, spots near the centre of the left and right edges, a few spots to the left of the signature, and a few in the lower left. The work is overall in good condition. Held in a decorative black-painted and gilt frame. The catalogue illustration is quite accurate, although the work is somewhat less orange.
