Condition

The canvas has not been lined. There are some minor fine lines of paint shrinkage in the flowers above the standing brown dog. Ultraviolet light reveals some relatively minor signs of retouching, notably in the lower part of the woman's dress and in her right shoulder (her skin tones appear to be unretouched), in the brown standing dog's hind legs, belly, and tiny spots in his neck, intermittent strokes along the lower and left extreme edges, and some minor scattered areas in the background. Overall this work is in good condition. Held in a decorative frame. The colours in the catalogue illustration are overall accurate.
