Condition
STRUCTURE
The canvas has been relined and the original overlap now forms the upper edge of the work; otherwise the work appears in good overall condition.
ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT
UV light reveals an opaque varnish. There are retouchings along the upper edge which relates to the relining mentioned above. There appear to be a few other minor areas about the canvas, including the upper right edge, lower right edge and some flecks by the boy's chair and hand.

Held in a gilt composite frame with a canvas inset.
