Condition
STRUCTURE
Original canvas, undulating slightly in each corner. There are two repair patches to the reverse of the work, corresponding to previous tears. There are signs of craquelure in the sky, mainly around the centre. The work is dirty and may benefit from cleaning.
ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT
UV light reveals signs of retouching along the upper edge, to the left hand figure crouching in front of the middle boat and areas of retouching through the sky upper right. Two of these areas, either side of the sails of the right hand boat, correspond to the above mentioned repair patches.

Held in a gilt moulded frame.
