Condition

STRUCTURE Original canvas. It undulates slightly in the upper corners. There are a few minor flecks of paint loss in the upper left and upper right quadrants and around the overmantle. There appears to be a repaired tear approximately 4cm. long in the plate on the left hand side of the shelf above the fireplace. There are two surface abrasions both approximately 3cm. long, one on the left hand side of the table, the other near the lower left edge; there is another small abrasion near the lower right edge below the cupboard. The work may benefit from a light clean and minor localised retouching. ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT Ultraviolet light reveals and opaque varnish and an area of retouching to the above mentioned tear. FRAME Held in the original exhibition frame.
