Catalogue Note

An enthusiastic Satchmo. Armstrong notes he has received a lengthy letter from Eric A.C. Ballard, "telling me about the wonderful chance I have of becoming the President of the Eccles & District Rythm [sic] & Gig Club." He relays his happiness, enthusiastically accepts the nomination and writes: "Yessir—Just carry on with those "SWINGING" proceedings and Ol President Satchmo Armstrong will be very happy." He mentions he will send along a photo as soon as he has "some decent ones made." Armstrong closes his letter sending regards to all the members and fans "and tell them to 'SWING', 'SWING', 'SWING.'"
