Catalogue Note

First edition.  A very good copy of this important monograph.  It gives cultural directions for each plant and was intended for private owners of gardens and greenhouses, rather than for botanists.  Many South African pelargoniums are shown.

Robert Sweet (1783–1835) was a famous horticulturist, nurseryman and author.  In 1812 he joined Colvills, the famous Chelsea nursery, and was elected a fellow of the Linnean Society.
