Catalogue Note
A nineteenth-century pendant from a headband (tab'a) originally from Meknes and now in the Museum of New Mexico Collections in the Museum of International Folk Art, Santa Fe, was decorated in a similar way, with two levels of roundels set with gemstones in a concentric fashion (illustrated in Mann 2000, p.151, no.51). Whereas the headband also contained enamelwork to the front, on the present bracelet, it is the reverse of the central panel that is enamelled.
