of rectangular form, one edge slightly tapering, carved in low relief with arabesques and split-leaf palmettes
Condition
In fairly good condition, some weathering to surface consistent with age, one drill hole to tapering edge, two along centre of body and two near other edge, three small drill holes near one side, as viewed.

Catalogue Note
A very similar architectural decorative wood panel, composed of Aleppo pine wood and carved in deep relief with split-palmettes and leaves is now in the Musée du Louvre, Paris (inv. no. AA 166) illustrated in Paris 1988, pp.100-101, no.56. The present piece and the Louvre fragment can also be compared with a set in the Benaki Museum, Athens (inv. no.9246 and 9247) (ibid, p.100, no.56a).
