Gouache heightened with gold on paper, depicting a beturbaned youth standing in a striped robe, holding a tall-necked bottle, surrounded by tall leafy shrubs in gold, laid down on card with applied borders decorated with polychrome scrolling flowers, inscriptions above and below

In reasonably good overall condition, tear running through the middle has been repaired, some light creasing, otherwise good, as viewed.

A youth dressed in a similar black and white striped robe can be seen in miniature (possibly the fronstispiece of an album or manuscript) signed by Reza-i 'Abbasi ('Feast in a Spring Landscape', published in London 2004, p.124-5, no.74-75).
