Gouache with gold on paper, later borders with floral designs in colours and gold on cream paper in the style of the Shah Jaham Albums, original cover paper bearing an inscription in William Fraser's hand "a portrait unknown but an original", inscription on outside of cover paper in black ink in Persian script "nmbr 6" (number 6)

Catalogue Note

As William Fraser states in his inscription on the cover paper, the sitter is not identified. However, another portrait of the same prince standing holding a sword was offered in our New York rooms 17 June 1993, lot 172.
