Gouache and black ink, heightened with gold, depicting a kneeling Sufi surrounded by his accoutrements, including hat, ink and reed pen, ruled in blue and gold, laid down on an album page decorated with leafy flowers and vegetation outlined in gold, the reverse with 15 lines of small neat nasta'liq script, ruled in colours and gold

Condition

In good overall condition, the leaf with some slight worming, very slight water staining to bottom leaf margin, the painting with some small stains, as viewed.
