Description

Arabic manuscript on paper, 110 leaves plus 4 flyleaves, 9 lines to the page, written in naskh script in black ink with interlinear commentaries in red, verses separated by assorted gold forms pointed in blue and orange, catchwords, leafy fronds in the margins, margins ruled in gold, illuminated gold headings written in white thuluth script with polychrome rococo floral decoration, opening illuminated elaborate rococo floral headpiece in bold colours and gold with intricate punched decoration, two further illuminated headpieces in the same style, double page illustration of Mecca and Medina in watercolours and gold with punched cintamani motifs, green leather binding with gilt painted central medallion and cornerpieces, with flap

Condition

In good overall condition, pages generally clean, ink bold and illumination bright, spine repaired, minor wear to the binding, few minor stains and smudges, repairs to the edges of a few leaves, as viewed.
