Description
- wool pile
- Approximately 303 by 207cm; 9ft. 11in., 6ft. 10in.
Condition
Pile even 2mm with some areas, in section across width at lower end, as especially up the left side which are worn down to knot-bars. There is wear down to foundation along a short fold line, bottom left quadrant, and scattered areas of lower pile to knot-heads (for example to the apricot). Abrash related oxidisation and associated wear in band in lower section of the main field. Both ends have blue herringbone tape added across the width. Outer most guard stripes at both ends with minor losses, warps close trimmed, and band rewoven. Original side cords, with some minor losses. Would probably benefit from a clean.
Good design and balanced colour and composition. Versatile size. Dense weave, very well coloured and drawn. Lovely example of extremely unusual size.
