Description

the octagonal steel barrel embossed with foliate and palmette designs, clasped to the forestock with six chiselled silver bands, the sides and underside of the stock decorated throughout with applied scrolling, split-palmette and latticework silver mounts set with coral roundels and teardrops, corresponding butt-plate of gilt copper with coral, the lock-plate and cock ensuite with floral chiselling

Condition

In general good condition, one small drill hole in forestock and one in stock, flowerhead imprints on forestock, possibly once mounted, one small section of silver and coral-inlaid design broken, some wear to wood on stock, some restoration, as viewed.
