Condition

In overall good condition, some natural hairline cracks within the ivory consistent with age, some of ivory slightly cracked on edges, as viewed.

This elegantly carved ivory plaque probably once belonged to either an ivory coffer or door. The full and lush foliage reflects the tropical context in which such ivories were carved.
