Description

  • 78cm. high, 44.5cm. wide; 2ft. 6¾in., 1ft. 5½in.
decorated with chinoiseries on a red ground; decoration refreshed

Condition

In overall good original condition but in need of some cosmetic attention. There are some small breaks in the mirror plate as visible from the catalogue photograph. The gilding is slightly dirty and would benefit from a light clean according to taste. Old minor marks, chips and scratches according to taste. There is a crack in a cornice of the right side which can easily be filled. There is a section of a tip of the foliate motif on the base of the right side missing which can easily be restored. There are construction cracks at the joints which can easily be filled or left. Old very minor restorations to the carving. There are two holes formerly for screws in the acanthus cresting. There is a very minor section of the plate missing on the top of the left side now with some infill.
