Description

  • gilt-bronze kingwood and amaranth
  • 81cm. high, 132cm. wide, 68cm. deep; 2ft. 7¾in., 4ft. 4in., 2ft. 2¾in.
of serpentine bombé form, with a moulded fossilised liver grey and white marble top above three short and two long drawers with pierced foliate cast and bodly scrolled knee mounts, the sides veneered within a fruitwood cartouche the drawers decorated with floral sprays, on splayed feet with gilt-bronze sabots

Condition

In overall good restored condition. Attractive detail to mounts and marquetry. Some minor losses to the veneer, restorations, cracking and lifting which has been restored in the past. The back and part of the inside has been stained red. The apron mount does not fit so well and is possibly a replacement. The rear feet have been reveneered and there is a rectanuglar section missing from the rear left foot which is off but can easily be restored. There are also some very minor hairline construction cracks on the right side hardly noticable can be left or filled. Marble top restored.
