Description

  • gilt-bronze, porcelain
  • each 17.5cm high, 18cm diameter; 7in., 71/4in.
each with a gadrooned rim above a pierced guilloche band enclosing a removable brass liner, each side mounted with a lion mask with a ring in its jaws above a pierced strapwork mount on a gadrooned circular base

Condition

In overall good condition. Colour overall slightly darker and gilding less greenish and more golden and attractive than in the catalogue photograph. The brass liners are missing all but one of their internal handles and have very minor dents and pitting. The gilding on the mounts is worn in places as visible from the catalogue photograph and has some very minor casting flaws. One bowl has some scratches on both sides towards the base and firing flaws. The other has a hairline body crack internally approx 20cm .
