Description
- gilt-bronze, porcelain
- 108cm. high; 3ft. 6½in.
with a gilt-bronze rim cast with acanthus, scrolls and elliptical motifs, the porcelain with stylised Greek key neck above an alternating foliate band, the baluster body with a honeycomb motif with cloud handles with boldly scrolled acanthus leaf and bullrush cast handles on a pierced base cast with scrolls, acanthus leaves and stylised scallopshells
Condition
In good orginal condition. There is a crack in the neck of the vase with a minor chip revealing the porcelain. The piece especially the gilt-bronze is dirty and would benefit from a clean according to taste. The quality of the gilt-bronze is very good and finely cast. Once cleaned this will look absolutly stunning.

This magnificent celadon vase is rare not only its size but also the quality of the casting and chasing of the gilt-bronze mounts and takes it inspiration from the mounted Oriental porcelain popularised by the Parisian marchand-merciers in the 18th century.
