Description

  • each 63cm. high, 67cm. wide, 40cm. deep; 2ft. ¾in., 2ft. 2½., 1ft. 3¾in.
each in the form of a vase with the coat of arms of of Montmorot and Bourbon, issuing two pairs of twin branch acanthus leaf cast candlearms, on a pierced c-scroll and foliate cast base and rockwork shaped plinth

Provenance

The arms are of Don Augustin-Fernando Munoz Y Sánchez , bt Duque de Riánsares, Grandee of Spain, bt Duc de Montmorot, a Peer of France, born Tarascon 4th May 1808, died le Havre 13th September 1873.  He was a Senator of the Kingdom of Spain and an officer in the Royal Corp of Guards and a Lieutenant General of the Royal Army. He married on 28th December 1833 Her Majesty the Queen Regent of Spain Donña Maria Cristina of Bourbon, Princess of the Two Sicilies (born Palermo 27th April 1806, died Le Havre 22nd August 1878), widow of King Don Fernando VII of Spain and daughter of King Don Francesco I of the Two Sicilies by his Queen Dona Maria Isabel of Bourbon. Infante of Spain, daughter of King Charles IV of Spain. The arms are those of Munoz, Sanchez, Funes and Ortega over all an escutcheon of pretence with the arms of the French Dukedom of Montmorot.
