  • teapot, 12.5cm, 4 7/8 in high
of small size, the flask-shaped bodies inticately chased with flowering foliage inhabited by an elephant and other animals against a matted ground, salamander handles, the teapot with scorpion finial, the undersides stamped 'O.M / BHUJ'

Condition

Crisp condition, good clear marks, a few small dents to the teapot, the teapot hinge needs to be reset slightly, nice example, overall good condition

Another chased silver teaset bearing the mark of Oomersi Mawji, dating from the 1880s was acquired a few years ago by the Victoria & Albert Museum (IS.163-2007 and IS.164:1,2-2007).
