  • each 36cm. high; 1ft. 2¼in.
each with a backplate in the form of a neo-classical female figure in drapery holding three scrolled and acanthus leaf candlearms, two terminating in a dragon's head, one a serpent's head and acanthus supporting a baluster candlenozzle and drip-pan

Provenance

By repute purchased  in the mid 1980's from Didier Aaron, New York.

Condition

In overall good conserved condition. An unusual model. Some minor rubbing to bronze figures and casting cracks to gilt-bronze commensurate with age. Attractive detail to casting. On one the fixing above the candelarms has an extra piece and the thread of the screw is visible which can easily be fixed. There is a variation in the casting of the foliate piece beneath the drip-pans and some are more finely cast and pierced. One wall light has some very minor losses to the foliate piece beneath the drip-pans but this is hardly noticeable.
