Description

  • 64cm, 25 1/4 in high
the barrel carved in high relief with a procession of nymphs and putti accompanying the chariot of Apollo, on four putto and nymph head supports, the handle and finial elaborately carved in similar taste, gilt-metal liner

Condition

discreet restoration in a number of places including finial ( the figures have been reattached and some damage and restoration to putto's feet, wing, shoulder and head, and to her head, torso and arm), thumbpiece, and along joins between base rim and bottom of tankard, otherwise usual joins and haircracks due to time.
