The present model of a lion relates to a pair of Italian bronze lions sold Sotheby`s, 3rd July 2012, Lot 74. It also compares with a pair of late 17th/early 18th century bronze lions sold in the Collection Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Bergé sale, Christie`s Paris, 25 February 2009, lot 382, 46,000 euro.
