  • Ebony, Indian elephant ivory, brass and copper
  • 78cm 30¾in. high
14 x 11-inch painted copper dial depicting chronos and death despatching the hours, the upper section with a pierced aperture displaying the hours moving past the quarters, the fusee movement with circular plates signed Geo. Pietro Callin, Genoa, with turned pillars, verge escapement, the architectural case with broken-arch pediment flanked by carved corbels and with breakfront base incorporating a drawer, the cresting and base inlaid with ivory scrolls

Condition

Dial generally good with old re-touching and some minor flaking. Movement with broken fusee line, requiring a clean but otherwise complete. Case with old minor losses, cracks and chips throughout, candle stand removed. With a winder.
