Description

  • The underside with two red sealing-wax collection marks with the arms of a Cardinal
  • pottery
  • 19¼in., 49cm. diameter; 10½in., 26.6m.high
of gadrooned campana form, the handles with bifurcated fish tail terminals, the exterior painted with an extensive landscape with mountains in the distance, the interior painted with Neptune and tritons riding hippocampi alongside dolphins and attendants, buildings and a mountainous landscape in the background, raised on a spreading circular foot (some repair)

Condition

three rim cracks at 8, 10 and 12 o'clock, meeting at the base and continuing in one line to the opposite rim at 3 o'clock; three large rim chips at 7 to 9 o'clock, all with older restoration, a crack at 2 o'clock, and some partially restored flaking to exterior, star crack on base
