Description

reposant sur trois pieds cabriolets à décor de fleurs de lotus et caractères shou sur fond noir surgissant de gueules d'animaux fabuleux, la panse polylobée, chaque côté à décor de diverses fleurs sur fonds de différentes couleurs, surmontés d'une bande de lotus dans des rinceaux, flanqué d'anses en forme de dragons menaçants brandissant des caractères shou dans des médaillons ajourés, le couvercle polylobé à décor archaïsant de dragons kui affrontés dans des panneaux ajourés en réserve sur fond turquoise agrémenté de rinceaux, la prise globulaire en forme d'un dragon (2)

Condition

The censer is in good overall condition with the rim, one leg and one dragon handle slightly loose and the gilding slightly worn as expected ; the edges of the foliated cover's rim have been partly pushed in with associated small losses to the enamels along the rim. Expected light wear and scratches to the gilt-bronze parts.
