Description

  • Ivory, wood

Provenance

Formerly in the collection of Prince Massimo Montalto di Fragnito and thence in the family by descent.

Condition

The okimono is in overall good condition with the exception of two small chips to the writing case of the master and a small object inside the case that is missing ; some age cracks to the ivory as expected ; some pieces made of different parts of ivory may have been re-stuck. The actual color of the ivory has a slightly more yellowish tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
