Condition
Both lanterns are in overall good condition. They both have shallow chips to the edges of the body, the longest ca. 1 cm, and there is a chip to the corner of the rim on both lanterns. On both vases, the gilding of the shou-characters and the painted gold scrollwork and lotus flower sprays is slightly worn. There are small potting/firing flaws to the porcelain along the edges of the lower parts which have been painted over and gilt and are probably original to the time when the lanterns were made.
