Dans le riche registre des ornements en "bronze" (alliage cuivreux) du Burkina Faso, ce pectoral, dont la signification demeure inconnue, relève du type le plus rare et s'impose, par sa dimension et ses qualités, parmi les plus exceptionnels. Avec un talent remarquable, le fondeur est parvenu à saisir l'élan de l'oiseau se dressant sur une base hémisphérique, le mouvement du corps équilibré par la tension de la tête et l'amorce du déploiement des ailes. Superbe finesse de la fonte à la cire perdue et très grande qualité des détails en résultant.
