Catalogue Note
Provenant de l'exceptionnelle collection de "miniatures" constituée par Josef Herman, cette statuette s'impose par la rareté du style et la remarquable dynamique des volumes. Son attribution aux Gouin ou Karaboro s'appuie sur les données de terrain accompagnant la collecte par Wirz en 1930, à Banfora, de statuettes très apparentées aujourd'hui conservées au Museum der Kulturen de Bâle (Haselberger, 1969, p. 200).
