Superbement ouvragé, cet oracle à souris se distingue par la richesse de son iconographie où alternent, émergeant en haut relief sur un fond finement gravé, des visages humains et des éléments tirés du répertoire animalier.
La divination par les souris consiste à enfermer un couple de souris dans un réceptacle divisé en deux parties par un plancher percé d'un orifice. Dans la chambre du haut sont posés, sur des grains de mil, des bâtonnets dont les souris modifieront la disposition, en composant des signes qui seront interprétés par le devin (Labouret, 1934-35). Belle patine d'usage, profonde.
