Catalogue Note
Le visage aux traits naturalistes, dont le front est paré d'une nervure médiane et d'une frise de petites cornes d'antilope, illustre le style développé par les Dan de la région de Flanpleu, à la limite des courants méridionaux et septentrionaux. Il a conservé son fer rituel et son collier de barbe en plumes - rare. Les yeux ronds indiquent qu'il s'agit soit d'un masque de feu zapkei ge - chargé de veiller à la sécurité du village en vérifiant l'extinction des feux domestiques -, soit d'un masque de course gunye ge.
