Catalogue Note

Principalement employées au nord et à l'ouest de Vitilevu, les fourchettes bulutoko étaient réservées à l'usage exclusif des prêtres et des chefs, dont les lèvres ne devaient pas toucher la nourriture. Celle-ci se distingue par ses dimensions imposantes, et par la puissance des formes aux contours épannelés, attestant sa grande ancienneté. Voir Phelps (1976 : 188, n° 789) pour une fourchette très comparable dans la collection James Hooper. Belle patine d'usage, sombre et profonde.
