"I frammenti di alcune prove di stampa di una pagina dell'edizione grafica di Sei illustrazioni per gli scritti dell'arte antica di Johann J. Winckelmann sono disposti su due tele accostate, in modo da formare un'immagine lacerata, a forma ellittica. Il soggetto dell'immagine - uno scultore intento a contemplare il busto del figlio - è messo en abime attraverso un raddoppiamento speculare, integrato con un'inversione dei busti dello scultore e della scultura."
